Mourning the death of her mum a few decades back, ALICE McKINLEY finds her life seriously disrupted when her dad BEN buys a store and moves her along with her elderly brother LESTER to some new town. From the painful throes of adolescence, Alice has difficulty adjusting to her new school, particularly after she has the stern MRS. PLOTKIN because her heart educator.
