After fifteen years' service, Henri Boulanger is made redundant from his position. Shocked, he attempts suicide, but can not go through with it, so he hires a contract killer to kill him. But he meets and falls deeply in love with Margaret, a flower-seller, that makes Henri realise that his life has some significance. But when he moves straight back to the bar to cancel the contract,'' he finds it has been forged - and there isn't any way he'll get intouch with the killer...
