In the Electric Mist

Lt. Dave Robicheaux, a director in New Iberia, Louisiana, is trying to join the murder of a neighborhood hooker into New Orleans mobster Julie (Baby Feet) Balboni, who is co-producer of a Civil War film. At precisely the same time, after Elrod Sykes, the star of the movie, reports finding another corpse at the Atchafalaya Swamp nearby the movie set, Robicheaux starts another evaluation, presuming the corpse are the remains of a black man he saw being murdered 3-5 years before.
