Convoy

Can be actually a 13-episode American tv series set during World War II which seemed for its 1965--1966 tv season. The series starred John Gavin as Commander Dan Talbot of the US Navy destroyer escort"DD181" and John Larch as civilian retailer Captain Ben Foster of their cargo ship"Flagship", who were engaged in the convoy ships and their escorts which help to transport food, supplies and war substances across the Atlantic during the Battle of the Atlantic. The show also featured Linden Chiles as Steve Kirk and James T. Callahan, formerly of ABC's Wendy and Me Sit Com, at the role of Lieutenant O'Connell. Stars were Harold Gould, Jack Palance, Barbara Rush, James Doohan, Leslie Nielsen, Horst Ebersberg, Dennis Hopper, and Jeremy Slate. Convoy was one of the NBC show in grayscale. Using stock footage made color hopeless. As a result, several NBC affiliates refused to clear that the program, which consequently didn't grow outside of the'bottom 10' from the Nielsen ratings. The program was released on September 17, 1965, and also the last episode aired on December 10.
