Jamaica Inn

Place contrary to the forbidding backdrop of wind swept Cornish moors in 18-20, the narrative follows the journey of young and spirited Mary who's forced to live following the departure of her mommy with her Aunt Patience. Mary arrives at the Jamaica Inn to discover her Aunt can be a shell of this woman she remembers from her childhood, and instead finds a drudge who's firmly under the spell of her husband Joss. The Inn doesn't have guests - that the rooms are secured and kept for storage however it becomes clear it's really a pay, as Joss is the leader of a smuggling ring, along with also Jamaica Inn the hub of the'free' trade.
