Police Squad!

Police Squad! Is a tv comedy series first broadcast in 1982, developed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker, and starring Leslie Nielsen. A spoof of police procedurals featured Abrahams, Zucker and Zucker's non sequiturs, word play and usual sight-gags. While a parody of many tv shows and movies, it bore a similarity to the Lee Marvin cop series, M Squad and the 1960s show Felony Squad. The series spawned the thriving Naked Gun film collection Even though cancelled after only six episodes. Television Guide ranked it 7 in their 2013 set of 60 demonstrates were"Cancelled Too Soon".
