The Other Tom

Elena is a woman who raises her child alone and is dependent on social services. Tom, her kid, has a history of poor behavior and is known as a "problem child" at his elementary school. Their already tough connection is further complicated by the fact that the father is not present. Tom receives a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and is prescribed psychiatric medicine; however, his mother becomes aware of the potential negative consequences of the medication after an odd mishap. When she refuses to continue giving the medications to him, the Social Services agency threatens to remove Tom from her custody.
