The Price of a Broken Heart

A true-life account of a historic legal battle. A woman (Park Overall) discovers that her husband has been having an open affair with his secretary (Laura Innes) and has promised marriage to her. The wife files for divorce and also sues the secretary, citing an obscure law on alienation of affection that was enacted to protect married couples from homewreckers. This creates a new courtroom consideration because the other woman's culpability must be defended, removing the fault of the married partners from consideration.
