Matador

Matador is actually a Danish TV show produced and established between 1978 and 1982. It's set in the fictional Danish town of Korsbæk between 1947 and 1929. It follows the lives of a selection of characters from across the social spectrum, focusing specifically on the rivalry between the groups of 2 businessmen: The banker Hans Christian Varnæs, a recognized neighborhood instrumental, and societal climber Mads Skjern, who arrives in town as the series opens. The name Matador was taken from the localised edition of the Monopoly the show' tentative Language title. In addition, in contemporary Danish a"matador" is most frequently used to refer to a business tycoon, in the show discussing to the type of Mads Skjern and also his craftiness as being a self sustaining entrepreneur. Directed by Danish film maker Erik Balling, Matador was the idea of writer Lise Nørgaard who wrote the bulk of the episodes alongside Jens Louis Petersen Karen Smith and Paul Hammerich. The show represents the summit of evolution of TV drama by people service station Danmarks Radio and is just one of the popular and very most well-known examples of television. The show has become part of the of Danes because also a distinct warm Danish humor in the depiction of characters and of its mix of melodrama, which a wide range of the very common Danish celebrities at the time portrayed. But not least for its portrayal of a Denmark from across the beginning of the Great Depression and during Nazi Germany's occupation of Denmark in World War II.
