The Agency

The Agency is a CBS television play that followed the inner workings of the CIA. The collection was created by Michael Frost Beckner and has been executive Made by Michael Frost Beckner, Shaun Cassidy Productions and Radiant Productions in association with CBS Productions and Universal Network Television. It aired until May 17, 2003 in September 27, 2001, lasting two seasons. It comprised unprecedented filming. The show was controversial regarding its exploration of current affairs and its own treatment of these ethical conflicts. Beckner's pilot script, written in March 2001, posited a reinvented CIA tasked with a"War on Terror" after Osama Bin Laden's Al Qaeda terrorist organization plots a lethal attack to the west. The pilot was supposed to premiere in CIA Headquarters on September 18, 2001 and set to broadcast on CBS September 21, 2001, but the particular 9/11 attacks convinced the system to put on the pilot instead air a subsequent incident. That episode has been aired later as this primary season's next episode. The September 11, 2001 terrorist events changed the way Americans viewed topical entertainment and"The Agency", at the time, was clearly one of their very topical offering on network tv. CBS decided to cancel the show after the final episode of the next season, although the producers of this series responded for the outlook in the world affairs.
